S&D 7F 53809 at Lydeard, 23 Mar 2006. No.53809 was one of a batch of 5 built by Robert Stephenson & Co in 1925 for freight working on the S&D, though in the 1950s they were also used on the heavy holiday passenger trains between Bath and Bournemouth. 53809 has recently been overhauled at the Midland Railway Centre, Butterley, where it has been based since the 1980s.
