The Welsh Highland Railway [Caernarfon] is a narrow gauge (1 ft 11.5in) line which runs from Caernarfon on the coast to Rhyd Ddu at the foot of Snowdon. The aim is to extend southwards to Beddgelert and Pont Croesor to link up with the WHR [Porthmadog], re-opening the entire route of the Welsh Highland which closed in the 1930s.
