Grosmont Crossing signal box, built by the NYMR in the style of the North Eastern Railway and opened in 1996. As the railway is much wider than the road, two sets of crossing gates are needed. The gates in the picture close across the road while the ones on the other side swing open parallel to the railway. The gates are controlled by two handwheels in the signal box. 31 Aug 2004.
