N7 class 0-6-2T no.69621 at Weybourne, 21 Sep 2005. This class of engine, introduced in 1915 by A.J Hill of the Great Eastern, were designed for the intensive suburban services into London Liverpool Street, building being continued by the LNER up to 1927. This one appeared in 1924 and was the last engine built at the GER’s Stratford works in East London. It has recently been restored to working order but was not in steam at the time of my visit.
