The North Norfolk Railway, or the “Poppy Line”, runs for just over 5 miles between Sheringham, Weybourne and Holt. The line was originally part of the Midland and Great Northern joint line [M&GN] which was formed in 1883 from a number of smaller companies and linked the Norfolk coast with the Midlands. Most of the M&GN was closed in 1959, the only surviving section apart from the North Norfolk is the Sheringham to Cromer line, still open as part of the national network.
