Class 4MT tank no. 42085 in Haverthwaite yard. This locomotive is an example of Charles Fairburn’s version of the LMS 2-6-4T, built by BR at Brighton in 1951. Sister loco 42073 is also based here, both being purchased from BR in 1968.
